The WOMEN’S CHOICE AWARD SHOW recently made the announcement that veteran television personality and journalist Meredith Vieira, who is an EMMY award winner, will moderate the 2017 edition of the Women’s Choice Award Show thereby honoring women of strength who constantly remain vocal about the empowerment of women and girls.
The winners are expected to be announced during the star-studded Women’s Choice Awards live show billed for the legendary Avalon Hollywood ballroom on May 17, 2017 (Wednesday).
The Women’s Choice Award Show represents a fantastic avenue for the voices of women and girls to be heard in a dominant way with an event that is dedicated to celebrating and honouring trailblazers in the women folk. The event will be a platform to prompt girls to take that step forward into their power and go after their dreams.
Speaking on the choice of Meredith Vieira for the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Women’s Choice Award Show, Delia Passi, said: “Meredith Vieira is a brilliant talent and a true champion of girls and women. Women and girls throughout the world are eligible to vote so as to arrive at winners in three categories such as the “Spotlight”, “Voice of Women” and “Shero” awards. The “Shero” Award would be won by a passionate activist that has been engaging in awesome work that is of immense benefits to women and girls. The “Voice of Women” Award would be won by a leader that has offered immense assistance in the positive portrayal of women and girls in media and entertainment. The “Spotlight” Award will be for a celebrity that is making use of her status to create awareness on problems affecting women and girls. The event is bold to announce that non-profit I Am That Girl will be the cause partner for The Women’s Choice Award. Alexis Jones, who is the founder of I Am That Girl, is billed to speak during the event and girls from local I Am That Girl centres will witness an empowering and inspiring night as VIP guests during the event. Girls that are from the global I Am That Girl chapter will present awards to winners that emerge during the Women’s Choice Award Show. Guests that attend the Women’s Choice Award Show will be given the platform to make a donation onsite in a bid to promote I Am That Girl.
