PORTLAND, ORE./ SEPTEMBER 15, 2018/ Portland, Ore. – Hammer & Nails Grooming Shop for Guys, a men’s shop that provides hand and foot care, haircuts and shaves in a man cave nirvana, has announced plans to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro Area (BGCP).
The Shark Tank Season 6 concept will use its innovative service to showcase opportunities for underprivileged youth with a choice of a manicure, pedicure, or high-quality haircut experience.
Hammer & Nails has a monthly membership model, consisting of two basic services from a manicure, pedicure, or haircut for a reasonable price. Members can donate their monthly membership services for a youth to use, directly benefiting BGCP teens and allowing unused services to be redeemed by youth. An individual can donate two services monthly with each membership.
Hammer & Nails owner, Dr. Keenan Davis, is widely familiar and supportive of the Boys & Girls Club model. “I was drawn to this partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro because of the impact that my hometown Hot Springs Boys & Girls Club had on my life,” Davis stated. “I realize the impact that access and exposure has on a young person’s life. We are excited to play a small role in the Portland community by expanding the confidence in our city’s youth.”
The Hammer & Nails experience is unlike any other in the health and wellness space. The vibe is private, masculine, and relaxing. The atmosphere is low-lit, with soft ambient lighting throughout the shop. Every guest has a personal TV, remote and noise-cancelling headphones, and a complimentary beverage of choice during their visit. Members enjoy priority scheduling for appointments to minimize waiting and to optimize the experience.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Hammer & Nails and so appreciative of this unique opportunity to offer our teens grooming services that can help open doors to networking, professional development, and job opportunities,” says Melissa Froman, Senior Director of Donor Development at BGCP.
Hammer & Nails is located on the corner of E. Burnside and MLK, Jr. The franchise announced its Grand Opening for October 15. The partnership with the Portland Boys & Girls Club will begin immediately.
