SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 17, 2017 – 5 For The Fight, the campaign to raise $50M for cancer research, today announced Ricky Rubio as a key ambassador. Rubio, a point guard for the Utah Jazz, lost his mother, former coach and other family members to cancer in recent years and is committed to fighting the disease.
As part of his commitment, Rubio recently launched a PLEDGE IT campaign inviting fans to donate a specific amount of money for every assist he makes this season with the goal of raising $150,000. Both Rubio and corporate partners are matching gifts made by fans. The first $20,000 in donations will be matched by Layton Construction Company. The campaign works as follows:
– Fans who pledge $0.05 per assist or donate $30 will receive an autographed picture of Rubio.
– Fans who pledge $0.10 per assist or donate $60 will receive the autographed picture and a 5 For The Fight t-shirt.
– Fans who pledge $0.25 per assist or donate $150 will receive the picture and t-shirt, and will be entered to win one of 8 autographed Rubio jerseys.
– Fans who pledge $0.50 per assist or donate $300 will receive the picture and t-shirt, and will be entered to win one of five pairs of autographed Rubio shoes. In addition, these fans will be invited to meet Rubio in the Qualtrics suite after a home Jazz game.

Rubio recently stated, “When I found out the Utah Jazz had a partnership with 5 For The Fight, I think it was a sign from up in heaven that I was sent to be here in Utah. The last thing my mom asked me to do was to help make it easier for people going through cancer.”
“We are so grateful to have Ricky Rubio as a 5 For The Fight Ambassador. He is an incredible person and a great champion for the cause to eradicate cancer,” said Ryan Smith, co-founder and CEO of Qualtrics. “Cancer has touched everyone and we’re committed to fighting this disease. We invite everyone to donate $5 to the fight at 5ForTheFight.org.”
5 For The Fight is the campaign to raise $50M for cancer research. The campaign was started in 2016 by Qualtrics, the leader in experience management. In 2017, Qualtrics announced that it would be sponsoring the patch on the jersey of the NBA’s Utah Jazz. Instead of putting the Qualtrics logo on the patch, however, it donated the first year of the patch to 5 For The Fight. To learn more, please visit 5ForTheFight.org.
