HandsOn Northeast Ohio was founded in 2007 to build stronger communities where everyone has discovered their power to make a difference through service. Our mission is to make it easy for people of all ages to volunteer in meaningful projects, led by fellow volunteers that build stronger communities. Each year, HandsOn manages over 700 volunteer service projects connecting 5,500 plus volunteers benefiting over 100 agencies in Lake, Cuyahoga, and Lorain County.
This year during our 10th year of operation, HandsOn Northeast Ohio will manage our 40,000th volunteer in Northeast Ohio, serving and strengthening our community through over 100,000 volunteer hours. Our coordination of volunteers has saved our nonprofit partners over $500,000 in staff time.
Since 2007, HandsOn NEO has been advancing and strengthening community through signature programs: ongoing HandsOn Managed Projects, National Days of Service, Youth & Family engagement and Corporate Volunteer Engagement. HandsOn NEO’s core programs provide the full management and coordination of volunteer projects and as a result, volunteerism is more effective, monitored, constantly evaluated and improved.
By providing for the comprehensive volunteer management needs of our agency partners, from recruitment to training to evaluation, we build capacity for our partners, saving them time and money while also making volunteering easier for the members of our community that are eager to make a difference.
HandsOn NEO:
• remains the only volunteer center organization in the State of Ohio delivering this model.
• is the only local volunteer organization that provides individuals and families of all ages with coordinated opportunities to serve.
“We have always believed that everyone has the power to change the world,” said Executive Director and Co-Founder, Jeff Griffiths. “The impact of this power is reflected daily at our projects in a greater respect for the elderly, a love for animals, sustaining our natural environment, empowering kids and adults, opportunity for those with disabilities, a stronger community and so much more.”
