AUSTIN, Texas, March 28, 2017 — Common Threads, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing health and wellness to children, families and communities through cooking and nutrition education, just announced the launch of Common Threads Chef Takeover Fueled by Circuit of The Americas. The pop-up dinner series consists of five one-night-only ticketed events throughout the country, beginning with Chicago, IL on April 30.
Each event features a group of renowned chefs collaborating to create a themed meal ranging from the revival of a world-famous menu from the past to a cultural fusion spanning the culinary map.
Participating celebrity chefs include James Beard Foundation award-winner Michelle Bernstein, TV personality and author Fabio Viviani, author and celebrity chef Govind Armstrong, author and Bravo’s “Top Chef All Stars” winner Richard Blais, James Beard Foundation award-winner Jonathan Waxman and many more. The evening will also include an opening reception with small bites prepared by Common Threads students, a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and a special guest musical performance. Joining TV personality and author Adam Richman, award-winning journalist Tamron Hall and Food & Wine Magazine’s Gail Simmons will act as honorary chairs for the series.
“Common Threads was built on the belief that cooking a meal together is good for the body and soul,” said Linda Novick O’Keefe, founding CEO of Common Threads. “The Chef Takeover Fueled by Circuit of The Americas is a great way to bring our mission to life. We are thrilled to unite some of the restaurant industry’s top chefs to create a special experience over the dinner table while raising awareness for the importance of making health and wellness education not only a life choice but also a right.”
“It’s our pleasure to support Common Threads’ mission of extending nutrition education into schools located in underserved communities across the country. By serving as presenting partner for these unique fundraising dinner events, not only are we able to support the cause nationwide, but we are also honored to assist in launching Common Threads’ programs in our neighboring school district, Del Valle ISD,” stated Circuit of The Americas Chairman, Bobby Epstein.
Common Threads Chef Takeover Fueled by Circuit of The Americas will land in five major cities across the U.S., starting in Chicago, IL and wrapping up in Austin, TX during Formula 1 United States Grand Prix race weekend.
