The Children’s Brain Tumor Family Foundation Named an Official Charity Partner of the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon Set for Sunday, November 3, 2019

PARSIPPANY, N.J. / APRIL 30, 2019 – The Children’s Brain Tumor Family Foundation (CBTFF) was named an Official Charity Partner of the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon, it was announced today by Brenda Ries. The race will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

“The Children’s Brain Tumor Family Foundation is thrilled to be named an official charity partner of the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon,” said Brenda Ries, Co-Founder and Treasurer of the CBTFF. “The TCS New York City Marathon provides a unique platform for thousands of dedicated runners to pursue their goals while raising awareness for causes that are close to their hearts. We are proud to support our team on their journey to the iconic finish line as they raise important funds to benefit our mission of supporting research that will change the statistics for the children and families facing the heartbreaking diagnosis of a pediatric brain tumor.”

More than 400 official charity partners will be part of the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon, providing thousands the opportunity to run in the world’s most popular marathon.

In 2018, the CBTFF team consisted of five runners who collectively raised more than $60,000 to support the research being done at the Children’s Brain Tumor Project. 100% of the monies raised by the CBTFF offset the cost of the research being done by the Project under the direction of two doctors who were also part of the team; Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield and Dr. Mark Souweidane.

The 2019 CBTFF TCS New York City Marathon team will consist of ten runners. Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield will be back on the team to run again, and we will also have some amazing moms running in honor of their kids who have battled brain tumors. The full team will be announced on May 31st.
